Patient: MJ
Diagnosed: November 2009 - Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer
Today: Cancer-free
After a year of misdiagnosis as asthma and allergies, I was found to have Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer in November 2009. At that time, a PET scan found cancer in my lungs, liver, lymph nodes, and bones. The largest tumor was in my right lung, and it was taking away my voice due to its proximity to my trachea. I coughed incessantly, and I was very weak. In December I was on the verge of liver failure.
In mid-December I began treatment in a cancer center with a unique oncologist who promotes integrative oncology, who started me on low dose chemotherapy. At the same time I started working with Dr. Reese. Her comfort and reassurance from my first contact with her, as well as her obvious knowledge and expertise in natural healing, were extremely helpful to me in beginning to overcome my fear and moving ahead in restoring my health. I immediately began getting intravenous nutrients (high-dose Vitamin C with other vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants) including a glutathione push. The glutathione, a "super anti-oxidant", was vital in clearing out the toxins from my body which were placing such a heavy load on my liver.
Dr. Reese also prescribed a regimen of supplements (some taken in liquid form as the cancer was causing queasiness and lack of appetite.) These included anti-inflammatory agents, anti-oxidants, and substances that research has proven to help fight cancer. I also began using a nebulizer with glutathione.
While I was having the chemo and getting treatment by Dr. Reese, I was also getting regular acupuncture treatments, and doing a daily QiGong healing exercise. In January I had already started to feel better, and my liver function tests had normalized. The coughing was decreasing, my voice was getting stronger, and the incessant prickly feeling in the roof of my mouth from the lung tumor's nerve irritation had disappeared.
At the end of March, a second PET scan found no cancer at all, surprising everyone. My oncologist recommended continuing chemotherapy for another 3 months in order to "mop up" any small cancer cells that couldn't be imaged in the PET scan. At the beginning of July I had a 3rd PET scan done and again no cancer was found. I discontinued chemo at the end of June.
I am continuing the IV Vitamin C/glutathione, and much of the at-home self-care that Dr. Reese has been prescribing. Last Tuesday I rejoined my singing group and was able to sing with them straight through the full hour and 45 minutes with no problem. I'm bringing my body/mind/spirit back to good health and vitality.
